Shepherding Committee of the Metro Atlanta Presbytery The Shepherding Committee shall: - counsel with teaching elders in their relations with sessions and the congregations they serve.
- counsel, as requested, with sessions of churches without pastors, offering assistance in securing pastors, but only at the request of the session and church nominating committee.
- counsel with teaching elders without pastoral charges, offering them assistance in securing pastoral charges.
- provide general oversight of teaching elders without charge and those laboring outside Presbytery bounds.
- counsel with sessions at their request in such matters as are presented by them.
- monitor a particular church’s or teaching elder’s performance or its/his vows and officially visit the church only at the request of the session of teaching elder.
- other shepherding matters assigned by Presbytery.
